The domestic casting and forging industry is accelerating its intelligent upgrade, leading to high-quality development.
Recently, the China Forging and Casting Industry Association released the "2025 Industry Development Report", indicating that with the in-depth implementation of the Industry 4.0 strategy, the pace of intelligent transformation of domestic forging and casting enterprises has significantly accelerated. Key technological breakthroughs and green production transformation have become the core driving forces for industry development.
The report data shows that in the first half of 2025, the coverage rate of digital workshops in national large-scale casting and forging enterprises reached 68%, an increase of 12 percentage points compared to the same period last year; the application proportion of advanced technologies such as 3D printing and digital twins in the production of complex castings exceeded 35%, reducing the product development cycle by more than 40%. In the field of heavy equipment, a leading enterprise independently developed a 1.2-ton intelligent hydraulic forging press, which successfully rolled off the production line, achieving the domestic production of rotor forgings for 100-megawatt-level power generation units and breaking the foreign technology monopoly.
In terms of green production, the industry's unit energy consumption decreased by 8.5% year-on-year, the utilization rate of recycled steel raw materials rose to 72%, and many enterprises have achieved real-time monitoring of carbon emissions through energy management systems. The secretary-general of the China Foundry and Forging Association pointed out that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the industry will focus on researching and developing cutting-edge technologies such as short-process casting and near-net-shape forging. It is expected that by 2026, the intelligent transformation will lead to an increase of 3-5 percentage points in the overall profit margin of the industry.
