Geneva News (Special Correspondent Wang Li): The list of suppliers for the 2026 fiscal year released by the United Nations Global Procurement Center features Jinan Haoyang Forging & Casting Co., Ltd.'s low-chromium eco-friendly steel balls. This company has become the first enterprise in China's forging industry to obtain this qualification. This green product, which has passed the EU REACH certification, has a chromium content of less than 0.15%, and its wastewater discharge is 80% lower than the national standard. However, it maintains a hardness level of 58HRC, perfectly balancing environmental protection and performance requirements.

As the deputy unit of the National Standardization Technical Committee for Forged Steel Balls, Haoyang Casting and Forging took the lead in formulating the "Evaluation Specification for Green Forged Steel Balls" this year, incorporating "carbon footprint accounting" into the product certification system. The company invested 20 million yuan to build a closed forging workshop, which, through the waste heat recovery system, saves 120,000 cubic meters of natural gas annually and keeps the dust emission concentration below 2mg/m³, reaching the standard of pharmaceutical-grade cleanliness. "Our steel balls not only need to be wear-resistant, but also need to withstand the tests of the Earth," said Environmental Protection Director Liu Min, holding the carbon emission monitoring screen. The carbon emission per ton of steel balls produced has dropped to 60% of the industry average.
