Jinan Haoyang Forging: Empowering High-End Manufacturing with Green Forging, Driving Global Market Competitiveness through Environmental Upgrades

(Shijiazhuang, Shandong, November 11, 2025) As a high-tech enterprise in Zhangqiu District, Shandong Province, Jinan Haoyang Forging Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Haoyang Forging") has integrated the concept of environmental protection deeply into the entire life cycle of core products such as wear-resistant steel balls and castings in recent years. Through process innovation and technological upgrading, it not only achieved an annual reduction of 1,200 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and an energy-saving rate increase of 23%, but also opened up the high-end markets in Europe and America with the "green manufacturing" label. The inquiry volume in the third quarter increased by 40% year-on-year, making it a model for small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises to break through with environmental protection.

?? From "end-of-pipe governance" to "source control", establishing a full-process green production system

Haoyang Forging and Casting, founded in 2011, is a technology-oriented small and medium-sized enterprise specializing in the research and development of wear-resistant forged steel balls, flanges, and automotive parts. Facing the challenges of high energy consumption and high emissions in the forging and casting industry, the company invested 3 million yuan in environmental protection technological transformation in 2023, focusing on breaking through three key links:

Melting process: The traditional coal-fired furnaces have been replaced by medium-frequency induction furnaces, reducing nitrogen oxide emissions by 80%. At the same time, a waste heat recovery system is adopted to convert the heat from the exhaust gas into heating energy for the workshop, saving 52,000 cubic meters of natural gas annually.

For the forging process: Through the optimization of the "isothermal forging" technology, the temperature control accuracy for forming steel balls has been improved to ±5℃, and the material utilization rate has increased from 75% to 92%. This results in a reduction of about 300 tons of waste steel production each year.

Wastewater treatment: An integrated water recycling system has been established, achieving 95% reuse of quenching cooling water and cleaning wastewater. This results in water savings equivalent to the irrigation water volume of 1,500 acres of farmland per year.

"Our wear-resistant steel balls not only have a hardness of HRC 62-65, but also have passed the carbon footprint certification by SGS. The carbon emissions per ton of product are 18% lower than the industry average." Company technical director Chen Jinfu said, "Environmental protection investment has been transformed into product premium capabilities. Currently, the unit price of high-end steel balls exported to the EU is 22% higher than that of domestic sales products."
