In the old industrial area of Zhangqiu District, Jinan, the century-old factory of Jinan Haoyang Forging Co., Ltd. is experiencing a rebirth - through the implementation of the "digital gene recombination" project, this 60-year-old enterprise has built the first CPS (Information Physical System) in the forging industry in the province. The response speed of production plans has been reduced from 72 hours to 4 hours, and the on-time delivery rate of orders has increased to 99.5%.
"We have preserved the historical features of the red brick factory while integrating a 'smart brain' into the interior." Chen Liang, the company's digital transformation director, demonstrated the 5G + MEC edge computing system in the workshop: 200 sensors collect real-time data on equipment operation parameters, and through the digital twin platform, a virtual production line is constructed, enabling the prediction of equipment failures 72 hours in advance. This year, the customer collaboration platform developed has enabled major clients such as Shandong Linong to participate in product design online, reducing the customization cycle from 30 days to 12 days.
During the transformation process, enterprises are confronted with the challenge of insufficient digital skills among their older workers. To address this, a "Digital Craftsman" training program was launched. Through the VR training system, it helps workers over 50 years old quickly master the operation of intelligent equipment. The transformation story of forging worker Liu Master, who went from "wielding a sledgehammer" to "writing programs", was reported by the CCTV program "Masters of the Great Nation". Currently, the average output value per person on the enterprise's digital production line has reached 860,000 yuan, a 2.3-fold increase compared to before the transformation, and the enterprise has been rated as a "Model Enterprise for Intelligent Manufacturing in Shandong Province".
