New Copper Mine Development in Sweden Highlights the Importance of Efficient Grinding

On September 8, 2026, Metso announced a new agreement with Gruvaktiebolaget Viscaria for the delivery of key process equipment for the Viscaria copper mine in Kiruna, Sweden. The project aims to produce approximately 120,000 tonnes of copper concentrate annually.

The equipment package covers multiple stages of mineral processing, including crushing, flotation, magnetic separation, filtration and other processing technologies. The announcement also follows an earlier order for SAG and ball mills for the project.
