Forged steel ball quality inspection requirements and methods

08-01-2020

Forged steel balls can eliminate the defects such as as-cast looseness generated during the smelting process of the metal by forged, optimize the microstructure and save the complete metal streamline, so the quality of forged steel balls is very important. So how to check the quality of forged steel balls. Now I will introduce the requirements and methods for the quality inspection of forged steel balls. I hope it will be helpful to everyone.

Forged steel balls quality inspection requirements

  1. The surface of the forged steel ball for the ball mill must be free of cracks, slag inclusions, over-burning, severe folding, and hollow and cracking. If it is found that the fire phenomenon accounts for 5% of the total weight, it should be reported to the relevant leaders in a timely manner.

  2. The surface of the forged steel ball is allowed to be partially lacking in meat, pits, pits, and the depth of the forged steel ball must not be greater than 3mm, the depth of the forged steel ball must not be greater than the allowable size of the diameter of the forged steel ball, and its length must not be greater than 30% of steel ball diameter.

  3. The surface of the forged steel ball used for decoration must be free of cracks, slag inclusions, overheating and folding, and defects such as pits, pits and depressions are not allowed.

  1. The blanks of forged steel balls are weighed electronically, and the weight must meet the requirements. The billet is not allowed to have bevels, clamping stubble and cutting material slag that affect the quality of forged forged steel balls, and no depressions greater than 5mm are allowed. Repair all materials with stubble and easily causing defects.

  2. Check the surface quality of the forged steel ball with the naked eye.

  3. The size and defects of the forged steel ball are measured with a vernier caliper, and the defect parts of the forged steel ball should be avoided during the measurement.

  4. The surface hardness of the forged steel ball is determined according to GB230-2004 "Metal Rockwell Hardness Test Method" at 4 points for each forged steel ball, and the arithmetic average value is calculated.

The above is an introduction to the quality inspection requirements and quality inspection methods of forged steel balls. I hope that everyone will be helpful after understanding the quality inspection requirements and inspection methods of forged steel balls.
