Breakthrough in "gradient hardening" technology, increasing the lifespan of steel balls by 40%
The green forging steel balls produced by Haoyang Casting and Forging in Jinan are made from 100% recycled steel materials. Their energy consumption has been reduced by 45% and carbon emissions have decreased by 35%. They have been included in the national green manufacturing list. The wear of the Φ60mm steel balls is 0.8 kg/t of raw materials, saving 18% of electricity. They have passed the EU REACH certification and have collaborated with LafargeHolcim. In the first quarter, exports increased by 30%. A photovoltaic workshop will be built and full-process carbon neutrality will be achieved by 2026.

Establishment of a joint laboratory for wear-resistant materials between China and Europe
Jinan Haoyang Casting and Forging has collaborated with the German SMS Group to jointly establish a China-Europe Wear-resistant Materials Joint Laboratory. With an investment of 5 million euros, they are developing ultra-fine grain alloy forging balls. The goal is to increase the fatigue life by 1.8 times compared to international standards. The laboratory will introduce SMS' digital control technology and will apply for 5 EU patents within three years. The performance of the first 120mm steel ball will exceed the German standard. It is expected to increase annual export volume by 120 million yuan and promote the upgrading of wear-resistant material industries in Zhangqiu.
