High-end wear-resistant products have become the new favorite of overseas mining companies.
Recently, Jinan Haoyang Forging & Casting Co., Ltd. released its export data for the first quarter of 2026: The export volume of its core product, B2 material forged steel balls, reached 3,200 tons, an increase of 80% year-on-year, setting a new record for the quarterly export value. Behind this achievement lies the continuous breakthroughs made by the company in material research and process innovation.
According to the technical director, Mr. Wang, the B2 material forged steel balls are made from GCr15 bearing steel as the base material. They are produced through the process of "medium-frequency induction heating + precise forging + isothermal quenching". The surface hardness is stable at HRC 58-62, and the core toughness is ≥ 12J/cm². This perfectly addresses the industry pain point of traditional steel balls being "hard but brittle". In an industrial test at an iron mine in Australia, the ball consumption of this product was only 0.85 kg per ton of ore, which was 25% lower than that of similar products. The breakage rate was controlled within 0.3%, helping customers save over 120,000 yuan in grinding costs per month.
"Our B2 material steel balls have obtained SGS certification and EU CE certification. This year, we have added customers from South America such as Brazil and Chile, and the order schedule has been extended to June." said Li Na, the manager of the Foreign Trade Department. The company is expanding its intelligent production line with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons, introducing digital twin technology to optimize forging parameters. It is expected that after the production starts, the product size tolerance can be precisely controlled within ±0.5mm.
It is worth noting that Haoyang Forging has also developed customized solutions for different working conditions: "Low-sulfur and low-phosphorus corrosion-resistant forging balls" for the wet grinding of gold mines, and "High-temperature wear-resistant forging balls" for the cement industry, among others. These specialized products have occupied 35% of the domestic high-end market and have become the undisputed leader in the forging steel ball sector.
