Production process of forged steel ball

forged steel ball

Forged steel ballscan be divided into: 45# steel forged steel balls, 60Mn forged steel balls, 65Mn forged steel balls, 40Cr forged steel balls, 42CrMo forged steel balls, B2 forged steel balls, B3 forged steel balls, B6 forged steel balls, etc. Carbon content is 0.4-0.85, manganese content is 0.5-1.2, and chrome content is 0.05-1.2, which can be produced by two processes of air hammer forging and hot rolling. It is mainly used in non-ferrous metal dressing, power plant and K-Na-feldspar mining, etc. Our company's 25 mm-60 mm forged steel balls are rolled by automatic hot rolling mill and 80 mm-150 mm forged by air hammer. There are some advantages & disadvantages for the Air hammer forging and Hot rolling production.

The main production process of air hammer forged grinding balls is as follows: the round steel bar is cut according to the size of the steel ball after passing the inspection; the steel forging is heated to a certain temperature through the medium frequency furnace to ensure the effective occurrence of type variables in the forging; the red hot steel forging is sent into the air hammer and processed by skilled operators. After forging, the red hot steel ball immediately enters the heat treatment equipment specially designed by our company for quenching tempering heat treatment, so that the produced grinding ball can obtain high and even hardness value.

In terms of the current wear-resistant grinding ball Market, forged grinding balls are generally used for grinding in wet grinding applications of foreign metal mines, including Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, Vale, South Africa gold, Chile copper mine, etc., which are all made of high carbon manganese alloy. In the domestic market, casting grinding balls are widely used at present, but the market of forged steel balls is increasing year by year. China Minmetals, Zijin mining, China gold, TISCO and Jiugang are also using forged steel balls. At present, it is proved that forged steel ball must be used because of the high chrome casting grinding balls breaking rate higher in semi autogenous mill.

The obvious advantages of forged grinding balls lie in smooth surface, high impact toughness, much lower crushing rate thanchrome casting balls, and much lower price than high chromium steel balls. However, the wearing resistance of forged grinding balls is comparable to high chrome casting balls. The cost performance ratio of forged grinding balls in large mines is much better than that of high chrome casting balls. Customers can choose according to the price of steel balls, quality standards and mine application.

Product characteristics

1. The breaking rate is less than 0.5%,

2. High impact toughness: the impact toughness is greater than 18J / cm2, and the 8-meter drop ball test is more than 20000 times.

3. High overall hardness: surface hardness 58-65hrc, volume hardness 56-63hrc, and average hardness gradient distribution.

4. No deformation: the steel ball is not deformed or out of round all the time.

5. Compact structure, high cost performance and obvious cost saving.
